iLead Leadership Certificate

To complete the iLead Leadership Certificate, you will be required to complete all of the tasks in each of the following leadership levels: Foundation for Personal Leadership – Level 1; Leadership through Teamwork – Level 2; and iLead Capstone Experience – Level 3. Each of these levels consists of learning modules, a service experience, and a report.

iLead Learning Modules - In this section, learning modules have been created to help those participating in the program understand certain leadership concepts. Each leadership development level has specific learning modules assigned to teach the overall objective of that level. These modules are all online and can be found by clicking on the appropriate links titled iLead Learning Modules.

Service Experience - A key element in learning the skills and attributes of a good leader is that of learning from experience, doing something. In this section you are asked to plan and carry out a specific type of project through application of the leadership concepts gained from the learning modules in each level of leadership development. Each service experience has specified criteria to meet. Concurrent with the service or projects you will be involved with, there will be specific questions about your experiences and participation.

Report - Record keeping is an important component of the learning process. When you are held responsible for what you are learning, the learning improves. In this section each participant will upload a document (either PowerPoint presentation or essay) to report on specific questions.

After meeting the requirements of each level, you will receive a certificate of completion. When all three levels have been certified, the BYU - Hawaii iLead Leadership Certificate will be awarded. Requirements are listed below.

Foundation for Personal Leadership

This level prepares individuals for personal leadership through online instruction and an experience to help each participant learn and apply concepts of fundamental leadership. There are no prerequisites to begin this program.

Not Completed	Foundation for Personal Leadership Service Experience - Serve 10 hours of volunteer work; answer reflection questions for your experience found at Level 1 Service Experience page (Requires description and approval of 10 hours of community service).
Not Completed	Report - Report on Level 1 content by answering the questions found on the Level 1 Report Submission Form; upload a PowerPoint or essay to the Level 1 Report Submission Form.

Leadership through Teamwork

Completion of the Level 2 modules and experience provides the opportunity to learn how to work more effectively in a team environment both as a team member and leader. Each participant must complete Level 1 before completing "Leadership Through Teamwork."

Not Completed	Leadership through Teamwork Service Experience - Serve in a leadership team position contributing to a team program/project with a minimum of 40 hours. Receive performance evaluation of work/service that includes customer service, task/goal achievement, communication, knowledge of and adherence to policies and procedures (Requires description and approval of team program/project).
Not Completed	Report - Report on Level 1 content by answering the questions found on the Level 2 Report Submission Form; upload a PowerPoint or essay to the Level 2 Report Submission Form.

iLead Capstone Experience

This level engages the participant in more advanced leadership skills and activities through the online learning modules and the “Capstone Service Experience.” Each participant must complete Levels 1 and 2 before completing the “iLead Capstone Experience.”

Not Completed	iLead Capstone Service Experience - Plan and implement a project in which you will provide the substantial leadership role. This effort will contribute to the betterment of others through service, organizational improvement, efficiency of operations, productivity enhancement, cost/overhead reduction, etc. The project requires a minimum of 100 hours of work/service, of which 25 or more hours should be provided by you and at least 50 or more hours by others. Both written and oral performance evaluation must be provided by your supervisor with written peer evaluation from at least four others working with/under your supervision (Requires description and approval of project).
Not Completed	Report - Report on Level 3 content by answering the questions found on the Level 3 Report Submission Form; upload a PowerPoint or essay to the Level 3 Report Submission Form.
